UITIl'nCIPlJ ol l Q CIITIQS The frrst drstrrct game was played at the new gymnasxum wrth Brownwood Led by Top Rylee the Loboes played the Lrons to a stand strll the frrst half In the second half the Lrons came back to beat a frghtrng Lobo qurntet 44 20 The Loboes, composed of Top Rylee, Watts, McDan1el, Kent, Porter, Harwell, Sharpe, Smxth, and Bacon, journeyed to Mrneral Wells to take on the Mountameers The game was very close all the way The Mountaxneers, however, came out on top 34 32 The Breckenrrdge Bucks came to Crsco for the thrrd conference game Thrs was a game the Loboes had warted for, because the Bucks had beaten them rn football for so many years Although the Bucks fought hard they fought rn vam, because the Loboes were out for blood Durward Smrth, wrth frfteen pornts, led the Loboes to a 46 22 vrctory For the next conference game, the X ellow jackets from Stephenvrlle ventured rnto the Lobo larr for an easy vrctory they thought The Loboes kept them behind rn the score for the whole game, never lettrng them even smell of the lead Smrth agarn led the scorrng and The Loboes pulled the Weatherford hangaroos rnto therr home terrrtory to Wm another con secutrve vrctory thrs bemg the thrrd The qurntet played another marvelous game and smothered the Kangaroos 48'-24 In the second game wrth Brownwood, the Loboes yust couldn t cope wrth the fury of the Lrons Although Smxth scored 30 pornts, and the rest drd just as well the Lrons won 68-39 The second meetrng of the Loboes and the Mountameers was a great dlsapporntment to the Loboes The boys from Mrneral Wells just had the local boys number Hxttrng the net from all angles, the Mountaxneers beat the Loboes 37 27 Then, not expectrng another stroke of bad luck, the Loboes fell prey to the Yellow jackets rn a ramblrng, scramblrng game 22 21 The Loboes, under pressure, left Crsco to enter the realms of the Breckenrrdge Bucks to wrn, after losxng three games rn a row, 44 28 A junror, james Porter, was hrgh pornt man, wrth 12 pomts The last game for most of the 49 squad came to a close wxth a slow game whrch was lost to the Weatherford Kangaroos, 40 33 the Loboes to a 39-34 victory, with nineteen points. . l . . , .
