Band On August 23, 1954, Mr. Truman Eberly called sixty old members and welcomed six- teen new members to the first band rehearsal. Following this first practice it was very evident that much work would be needed to ready the band for the coming year, particularly for the strenuous activities during the autumn months. However, when they made their first appear- ance at the Band Preview, the fans all agreed that Mr. Eberly had again come up with a fine organization. ln addition to being a big attraction at all the home football games, the music-makers also accompanied the gridders to Wilmington and Washington C. H. Two of Ohio's outstanding street shows had the pleasure of witnessing the band in action. They marched in five parades and gave a con- cert during the Pumpkin Show and marched in two parades at the Jackson Apple Festival. MAJORETTES lst Row: M. Magill, M. Barlhelmos. 2nd Row: M. Edstrom, E. Musser, L. Dresbach, B. Elsea, S. Stocklen, Buskirk, S. Van Fossen. This year for the first time, the band traveled to Lockbourne to participate in a Youth's Day. While there they played a concert and then enioyed all the demonstrations and activities that were planned for their enioyment. ln the winter the Band Mothers sponsored a round and square dance. Everyone present had a wonderful time and would like to offer a vote of thanks to the Band Mothers for pro- viding the entertainment and recreation. During the course of the year the band add- ed two Scotch drums and two basses which were very badly needed. The Band officers for the '54-'55 season were as follows: president, Bob Wellington, vice president, Margie Magill, secretary, Sandy McAlister, treasurer, Diane Mason, librarians, Elizabeth Musser and Nola Rader.
