Homecoming Patsy Neff, Mary Jo Smith, Katherine Fowler. The pretty, blonde blue-eyed iunior who reigned as Homecoming Queen this year was Mary Jo Smith. The two attractive attendants to the queen were Patsy Neff, a senior, and Katherine Fowler, a junior. These three girls were nominated by the football team and then were presented to the student body for election. Hats ot? to the splendid and lovely royalty of Circleville High School! 68

Track Mr. Tom Bennett ls our head track coach this year. Mr. William Courtney is our coach for the weights. The track team this year has only three re- turning lettermen, Dick Phebus, Jay Curry, and George Phlfer. In spite of this handicap we have a good bit of optimism about our track team. We have seventeen new prospects this season. These new boys are: Seniors-Rufus Fletcher, George Johnson, and Jim Arledge, Juniors--Robert Edgington, Don Garrett, Jlm Lewls, and Jlm McConnell, Sophomores-Don McClarren, Cllf- ford Stewart, Ron Stucker, and George Weffler, Freshmen-Charles Brooks, Fred Garner, Wll- llam Johnson, Gary Phlfer, George Tester, and Charles Thomas. This year the track team has a new manager, Eddie Martln, a Junior. Baseball Coach Dick Boyd shows considerable opti- mlsm as to what the i955 baseball team will do. The team showed up well in the Summer Baseball League, coming up with second place. Heavlest hltters last summer were Tomlin- son, Banks, and Hosler. Those who showed up most In the pitchers spot were Jim McConnell, Jim Calllhan, Walt Sleverts, and Mike Hosler. The same peculiar situation confronts the baseball team as faced the basketball team this past season. Not one senior went out for either sport!! This leads us to believe that next year's team will be exceptional because we will have the same varslty squad. Probable starting lineup ls: Ralph Jones, cg Jim McConnell, pg Walt Slev- erts, lst, Jim Calllhan, 2nd, Bob Wellington, ss, Mike Hosler, 3rd, Ed Tomlinson, cf, Dick Banks, lf, Mike Davis or Bob Calllhan, rf. According to all indications, this year's team will be the best one in three years and should be the one to bring home the S. C. O. L. cham- pionshlp.
