JANITORS Mr. Tracy, Mr. Lutz, Mr. Davis, Mr. Stout, Mr. Jones. CAFETERIA COOKS Mrs. Starkey, Mrs. Crites, Mrs. Walters, Mrs. Wells, Mrs. Harrington, Mrs. Ov- erly. Janitors In any school, the custodian ls far more Important ln its operation than appears on the surface. Many times their ablllty to keep machinery golng under adverse conditions, saves closing school for a day or more. The proper use of dislnfectants prevents the spread of disease and keeps lt from becoming an epidemic. The knowledge of the buildlng and locatlon of everything in the various rooms becomes very valuable to the school principal. The custodian is called on constantly by pupils and teachers for many duties beyond their scope of work. We are fortunate in having In our high school building five very courteous and understanding custodians. They are always wllllng to help out at any time or any place ln the building. Some have been here many years while some have been here iust the last one or two years. Corwin Street Building ls under the care of Mr. D. L. Tracy, the high school addition, Mr. Frank Davis, the high school Mr. Freeman Lutz, the Industrial arts building Mr. Roy Stout, who ls also the engineer for both the industrial arts building and the physical education building. Mr. Robert Jones is ln charge of the physical education building. Our thanks go to these five gentlemen for their patience and under- standing. Cooks Located in what was formerly the high school social rooms, the school cafeteria is enioylng its third consecutive year of operation. Under the management of Mrs. Garold Crites It has become one of the outstanding features of the school system. By starting the lower grade children through the llnes at 11:15 all of Corwin building ls served by 12:00. Starting at 12:00, the high school is served by 12:45. During the month of January approximately 14,000 lunches were served. The lunches enables the school to function ln a smoother fashion and to dismiss at 3:00 p. m. The school lunch program also enables the children to obtaln a balanced dlet. Then, too, there are many children who are learning to eat foods which they did not previously llke. Board of Education .aka TOP ROW: Carl Liest, Robert Brehmer, Virgil Cress. BOTTOM ROW: James l. Smith, Mrs. louise Hiene, Ray Davis. ln order to secure some informative views concerning the Board of Education, representatives of the annual staffs contacted Mr. George A. Hartman, superintendent of the city schools. His contribution was so complete that the staff decided to quote him directly in describing the Board of Education. What school could long endure and what dark rebuke the tide if at the helm there is no guiding hand? Directing the destiny of the Circle City Schools there is a school board who has kept the future of our school in mind. Tradition should be preserved but the future should not be hindered that advancement might be made. Under their guiding hands, we have achieved great progress and have great things to look forward to in the future. Co-operation is the word that applies so well to this present Board of Education. The height of co-operative achievement came when they decided to meet Circleville's pressing school building needs. This Board, with full approval of the people, has guaranteed good schools in Circle- ville for years to come. Problems can be solved with willing workers. I2
