G lt is a cold day in February. There are skiffs of snow on the ground. You take a ride out around the Pickaway County Country Club. You see four boys playing golf. Those boys must really love the game of golf, you say to your- self as you drive past. It's another day late in the summer. lt's iust about dark and it is sprinkling rain. You take another ride around the golf course. Again you see four boys out whacking away at a golf ball. Upon closer inspection you see that it is the same four boys. Those boys must be crazy about golf you think as you drive away. To say that the four boys who make up the Circleville High School golf team are crazy about golf is putting it mildly. Any one of the four would gladly miss breakfast, lunch, and supper, iust to play a full day of golf. It is only natural that when you get four boys who O I l love the game of golf as do Abner and Ted Leach, Don Olney, and Albert Sabine, that you have the best team in the state. And that is exactly what they are-State Champions. Last year in the state tournament at Columbus, the boys had a bad first round but came back very strongly in the last round to bring Circleville its first state championship in history. Although none of the four boys graduated last year, it is expected that only three of them will play this year. Abner Leach, who played a good bit last year when he was sick, might have to give up the game because of ill health. Walt Heine, however, is ready to try shoes, and if everything goes well, may make it two state championships when the state golf tournament is spring. to fill his Circleville in a row over next FIRST ROW Ted Leach Mr Steve Brudzunskr Don Olney SECOND ROW Albert Sabine Walter Heine Abner Leach 65 : , . , 1 I I
