lfp lon Mu I ma Purpose of the EMS club as stated In the constltutlon IS to further creative wrltmg and the study of literature This oblectlve ts carried out In H1 Notes the school paper which I published regularly by the club All of the members of the club take part In the Wflllng and assembling of HI Notes The popularity of this paper attributes to the workmanship of the club as a whole and especially to Janet Grant the editor FMS went to Columbus to see Ollvla De Havilland In Candlda George Bernard Shaws provocative play While IH the capital clty on the afternoon excursion the club members had lunch vlslted the Columbus Art Museum went C eer Helen Mogan Martha Barthelmas Doris Edglngton Gloria Lelst and Jo Anne Lewis all seniors were the veterans of the cheerleaders this year In cooperation with them were the neophytes Kay Graef and Mona Mowery from the freshman class and Janet Emerlne Bar bara Schumm and Sonla Slnes from the sopho more group These glrls dressed In their full red banded bowling and attended the pl y It was thoroughly profitable and enloyable afternoon for everyone concerned A student must have a 3 5 average to be ellglble for membership This IS the only honor club In the school Eleven students took ad vantage of their outstanding grades to become members this year making the total member ship for the year twenty tour EMS produced a play on February 26 for an assembly program The theme of the play which was entitled Schools for Freedom was a patrlotlc one lt was well received thanks to the helpful supervision of Mrs Clark Will the clubs fine adviser leaders black skirts and red sweaters are the essence of pep and enthusiasm at all interscholastic athletic games Their rewards for many hours of rehearsal and more hours of strenuous physical and vocal effort are momentarily the splrlt and enthusiasm of the attending crowds and permanently a letter awarded for each two years of partlclpatlon on the squad Q T Q , G .
