Junior SGS Club Junior S.O.S. began its year with a new advlser, Miss Frances Dickinson of Columbus, O. Projects and activities of the club have been many and varied. Some of them are the initia- tion of freshmen members the sponsoring of a dance after the Lancaster football game the giving of a 50 50 dance the Harvest Moon Hop presenting a needy family with a Christ mas basket sending Christmas cards to the Pickaway County Children s Home contributing to the Christmas Seal fund, and participating in the annual Christmas party for some un- fortunate children. Marlene Mancini president and Dona Kerns vice president headed the club this year Other members of the cabinet were Shirley Mason recording secretary Phyllis Clifton correspond ing secretary Linda Given treasurer Llssa Given publicity chairman Phyllis Dresbach service chairman Nancy Eltel program chair man Senior SOS Club President Vice President Recording Secretary Corresponding Secretary Treasurer Adviser The purpose of this club shall be to enrich the lives of its members through 'fellowship service and the everyday living of religious principles is the guldlng principle of the Serv lce Over Self Club Members of the S O S were especially busy on this years protect the redecoraton of a small room in the home economics depart ment which when finished will be a dining room Other activities were giving a Thanks giving basket to a needy family providing blankets for a needy family at Christmas and maintaining a booth at each home football Ru Hill Fern Wise Doris Edgington Nancy Bower Janet Grant Miss Elma Rains game Also at Christmas time the SOS spon sored a party for certain children In grades one and two The schools malor clubs par ticipated in this prolect Undoubtedly the outstanding event of the year was the Sweetheart Dance on February 21 For this gala occasion the girls decorated the social rooms In red and white and carried out their theme by scattering large hearts throughout the rooms Cllmaxmg the evening s festivities the girls announced the election of Nancy Bower as Queen I f l n 1 I Q , . . r , .
