Let me make this per- fGCiIlY Clear. . . . . . Old soldiers never die, they just fade away , , , On july 4, 1976, America celebrates her 200th birthday. She has come a long way in the past 200 years---from a group of 13 disparate colonies trying to work together as one to one of the most prosperous and democratic nations in the world. N htm In the process of growth and expansion many con- tributions have been made to humanity---electricity, the airplane, polio vaccine, television and radio, and . . . possibly Watergate. The American people have experienced success as well as failure. They have been through two World Wars and two others that have been termed conflicts as well as a depression. Through all this they have continued to strive to fulfill their dreams and hopes. Realizing that few dreams are ever completely fulfill- ed, the American people remain ever hopeful and op- timistic because if dreams were fulfilled, we'd have no reason to go on striving.
