L nfl-it? . t - 1 fn f t Boys State is held every summer At Rider College for the purpose of exposing high school boys to the operation of the state and local governments and militia. The boys are elected to government posts and carry out their jobs as government officials would. The boys are appointed by teacher recom- mendation. All are leaders in the school with a fairly high scholastic average. Girls State is run by the American Legion for the purpose of exposing high school girls to the operation of state and county govern- ments. It is held every summer at Douglass College. The girls are recommended by the guidance department and are interviewed by a woman from the American Legion, who chooses the final representatives. -V Club Maintains And Handles A- Equipment 12' -. . Spanish Club Sings Spanish Christmas Carol This year marks the fourth anniversa- ry of the Spanish Club. An active organization, the club has enjoyed dinner at La Casa de Espana Restaur- ant in Philadelphia, went Christmas Caroling in Spanish to the Cinnamin- son Home and privates residents and sponsored a cultural and foods booth at the International Festival at the high school, jan Murphy serves as the club president. Elected to offices were: Natalie Vil- lari, president, Cindy Ligos, secre- tary and Beth Diamond, treasurer. Among the club's projects were the Russian Teas, the various excursions to Philadelphia to attend the Russian Club meetings at Drexel, the Russian Films, and the International Day Culture and Food Booths. The club meets monthly. Several meetings have been combined with the Russian students from the Middle School.
