,-4nd Da hae ' It was no time for comedy, this year of college. There was gaiety, yes, hut little carelessness. The world posed too many serious problems and a college generation took them heavily to heart. There was much ado. as in every year, but this time it seemed to he ahout something. Xvhatis the noise out in the hall? It is just a Fresh- man trying to find where to register. Soon we all had decided upon our schedules and then the year started with Convocation, Joe Dampier, of Johnson City, Ten- nessee, bringing the opening address. Now for a night of rest. Ho hum, why is it that just when we get to sleep the alarm starts ringing? Oh, yes, this is the first day of school. We must get up early and get all Hxed up, for who can tell, we may meet our Wfaterloo for the first time today. After our daily devotions and our daily diet 11942- we formerly dieted to reduce hut now we have reduced our diet! , off to class We go. Too had there is a rationing on tires. Uh, well, as one American to another, HI guess we can take itf'
