The 'aparadew is fading away. The transition from actuality to living memory is already in process. Soon it will be completed and we will be left with a host of memories. On these there are no priorities. The pictures in this volume tell a storyf--a story familiar to dear old C. B. S. The last-minute effort now to put a supernatural sheen on the affairs for the year while one eye is kept on the clock would all be in Vain. Now as the book goes to press there are many things we would like to enter on these pages such as Family' Night, Conference, and Graduation, but it is impossible because of shortness of time. So now We stop and take our exit and the Class of ,441 enters upon the stage. And so to the end of, not a perfect year, but a year that none of us would have missed. 'e Four years ago you enrolled in The Cin- cinnati Bible Seminary for the first time and thus became a part of the Seminary family. Wle were all strangers to each other then, but during the four years we have spent to- gether the acquaintance that began at that time has grown into a delightful friendship that I trust shall continue throughout all the years to come. So precious is this friendship to us that we are reluctant to say goodbye to you as you leave your alma mater for your various fields of service. I congratulate you all upon the completion of your courses of study and the preparation you have begun for your chosen work. Your graduation will not terminate your prepara- tion, but will rather be the commencement of the structure you are to build upon the foundation that has been laid. The firmer and more adequately you have laid the foundation the more beautiful, useful, and stable the structure will be that you build upon it. The world always needs workers for Christ and the need was never greater than it is now. The immediate need calls for your most earnest endeavor to bring this terrible war to an end-so that mankind can once more follow the peaceful pursuits of life. l am sure that you will do your full share to support the brave men who fight our battles, to minister to the loved ones they have left behind them, to maintain the morale of our citizenship, and to strive to prese1've the ideals and institutions of our country that have made the United States of America the foremost nation of the world. lf you and other Christian workers can maintain these ideals and liberties, the victorious soldiers will have a home land to which they can return, feeling that they have a country that was worthy of their heroic achievements. The church needs you now-more than at any time in recent decades. The insiduous propaganda of infidelity in the guise of lib- eral, educated, and cultured Christianity, the hysteria of war, and the lure of a sensuous civilization have conspired to destroy the Church of Christ. The result is the weak, disloyal, divided, worldly church that has lost its power to save mankind and influence the world. Page Fifty wz4eeem,gz945 The church needs to be revived and re- stored to the place of leadership it occupied when it was fashioned after the pattern of the New Testament Church, and obeyed the instruction of the divinely inspired apostles chosen by ,lesus Christ to establish His church. The church needs to believe that the Gospel is the Power of God unto Salvation and that its mission is to proclaim it without change to all the world until God shall pronounce that time shall be no more. It is your task to restore the cl1u1'ch and guide it to its true destiny. Yours is a mighty task and it will require a courage and hero- ism that is equal to that of the fighting men in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the islands of the Seas. Wlten God rules again in the hearts of men and ,lesus Christ is enthroned as Lord and Saviour the church will once more be His church. It can then do the Work Jesus intended for it to do and this world will have the peace for which it is now engaged in deadly conflict. No lasting peace will come to the world until this happy day arrives. May God bless you all as you take your places in the battle and give you wisdom, courage, faithfulness, and perseverance to attain the goal. We pray that no one of you will falter, fail, or compromise with the force of unbelief, sectarianism, or worldliness. May you come to the end of your courses and receive the crowns of life awarded to those who have finished the course, fought the good fight, and kept the faith. lVfrs. Records, whom you chose as your class mother, joins with me, your class sponsor, in asking God to protect you and keep you true to your Lord. We assure you that we have genuine affection for you all and that we shall follow you and your work with a deep heart interest. You are our chil- dren. We love you and we shall rejoice if our efforts and interest in you help you to faithfully and courageously accomplish your tasks. Again may God bless and keep you to his glory.
