TO OUR PRESIDENT Thou art not a pillar, cloud-formed, To adorn the sky, White as Pariari marble, suri-touched, And pleasing to the eye: lristable as the foam that flecks The storm-tossed sea, Shaped by fickle winds to suit each Wind-horn fantasy. But thou art a pillar, firmly fixed, Measured by Christ's inerrarit Rod, Granite-strong, carved and polished To adorn the temple of our God. ---lra M.
