Q11 W ,Qi g 'f'u' Q i , , OID. a zov OUR crowded years have hurried by and the class of l94O comes to the commencement season with mingled feelingsi regret, because some of us will not return to the Seminary, and we do not like to say good-bye, joy, because we have achieved a measure of preparation, and we know we are set for the defense of the gospel. We have earnestly sought to put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Having taken unto ourselves the whole armor of God and having done all, we shall stand. We stand therefore, our loins being girt about with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, our feet being shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace,,and, above all, having taken the shield of faith wherewith we seek to quench the fiery darts of the Evil One. And having taken the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, we must rescue lost men from the clutches of the devil. We have been trained in our beloved school to be leaders in the work of Christ, lt is to us that the burden of fighting the good fight has fallen. ln this day when men seek to bring us into bondage, enslaving thought and action to human institutions and theories, we must battle to maintain the liberty that is ours in Christ Jesus. We must contend earnestly for the faith that was once and for all delivered unto the saints. Let us here and now dedicate ourselves to the proclamation of the faith of our fathers. This is the sacred trust that our Alma Mater has given to us. It is the commission which our Christ himself has deliv- ered to the church. It is the supreme need and the only hope of a world which has lost its way in the darkness of doubt and degradation This demands courage and sacrifice, it will entail hardships, loss of friends, but it will also bring a peace that passeth understanding and final commendation from the Captain of our salvation, even Jesus.
