What is CIMARRON? The correct answer is - 24,830 gross tons of the oldest metal on continuous active duty in the U.S. Navy today. ls this in itself Worth noting? Yes, to some extent. Perhaps though a better question is - what makes CIMARRON? The correct answer is - 300 fine young officers and men of the quality that our great country is noted for producing. This meld of the old and the young has embellished a new lustre to the Navy's shield of accomplishment during this year of our Lord 1966. We don't find them, we borrow them from you parents, wives and loved ones, and for you and country they are what they are, It is with a great deal of pride then that We present to you the pictorial story of the 1966 western Pacific deployment of the legendary CIMARRON as experienced by the latest and perhaps most proficient of her many illustrious crews, It is hoped that by reliving with us many of our moments of glory, some of the tortures of separation will be forgotten, T x
