X s Xp t QRS s N fs .- ds a A Saying goodby to the senior enlisted man Captain Heg reading his orders On 26 July 1966 minutes after the Cimarron dropped anchor in Hong Kong harbor, Captain Dewing was relieved of command by Captain Heg. The sun shone bright and clear as the crew in their fresh liberty whites assembled to hear Captain Dewing and Captain Heg read their respective orders. The ceremony was short and simple as the two skippers completed the change of command, and Captain Dewing said goodby to the men who had served under him since August of 1965. In afew minutes, the formalities complete, the commissioning pennant was hauled down and presented to Captain Dewing as another was run up to replace it, signifing a new man at the helm of Cimarron. New skipper on the job

W Q! f L Angel of Mercy ' On the spot photographer Repose making her 2DDI'0aCh The morning dawned peacefully enough as the Cimarron entered the harbor of Chu Lai for an oft postponed fueling rendez- vous with the Navy hospital ship, the USS Repose. The Cimarron anchored a short distance from the beach as the Repose, listing slightly to port, began her approach. But the modern floating hospital came in a bit to close and before she could correct the error, her bow had made a slight dent in the side of the Cimarron. Under the watchful eye of hundreds of spectators on both ships the Repose moored alongside and the refueling began. While the operation was in progress, not only the Repose, but her attractive nurses caught many a sailors eye. I wonder if we're insured En gm s. ,f- y ,,,i i
