The technological knowledge and training that is part of each member of this depart- ment is honed to a fine edge. The radarmen, in our Combat Information Center, plot any contacts and provide Warning of approach- ing vessels so that our bridge may take early and correct action. Our external communic ations were ably handled electron- ically by our radiomen and visually by our signalmen. Our quartermasters determine ship's position, maintain all charts and navigational instruments, and keep a log of all important events occurring on the ship, The delicate job of repair of all our intricate electronic gear is managed by our electronic technicians. The yeomen. main- tain the multitude of correspondence that is part of the daily-routine of aship, and the personnelmen see to it that the files and records of each man are kept up to date. Last to be mentioned but certainly not least are the corpsmen who see to it that the health and well being of the crew is kept at the high standards the Navy demands. It is evident that the Operations department is composed of many and varied ratings, yet they all Work as a team to get their important tasks completed.
