This was achieved by Nlrs. Baughman, who taught sewing, cooking and family living. They fashioned various items, such as pajamas, skirts, dresses, pant suits, jumpers, etc. These were made in var- ious materials, stitches, and sewing techniques. The types of fabrics they worked with were plaids, stripes and flowers that had various textures of cotton, denim, velvet, cordu- roy, and satins. Another household skill vitally important in life was cooking. ln this part of the class they practiced the prepara- tion of meats, pastries and vegetables in many different ways. We shut out four oppon- ents but couldn't get on the score- board enough. We also gave up 7 T.D.'s in the last three minutes of the four games we lost which made the score look rather lopsided. Several records were set this year with Gary Byrd, a four-year letterman, leading the way with a new record in rushing yardage of 655 yards in 126 carries an average of 5.2 yards a carry. A new reception record was made by John Long who caught 17 passes for 227 yards. Ned Egolf set a new punt return record with 8 returns for 180 yards. Mike Bush had a single game to- tal of 14 solo tackles for a new record in that department. 4 The EAGLES are looking forward to next year with as much optimism. We acquired a new head coach, Nlr. Barry Worl, who came to us from a coaching position at Bryant'High School. Under his guidance our Eagles gained much playing experience. Leading scorer was Junior Keith Andorfer with 202 points. Another Junior, Ralph Killworth, led all re- bounders with 109. The varsity team consisted of 4 Seniors, and 9 returning lettermen. Senior Dale Zeigler received an honorable mention position on the ACAC All-Conference team. The reserve Eagles had one of the best seasons on record. Coach Bair led his boys into an 16-4 record. Leading scorer for the reserves was Norman Zeigler and Scott Crance led the re- bounding. The Freshmen also did well under Coach Coyle, with a 11-4 season. Jake lmbody had an outstanding year as both leading scorer and rebounder. He totaled 251 points and 134 rebounds in the season. Ken Liggett was the best free throw shooter having a percentage of 74'Ms. U lVlr. Worl is already busy making plans for next year knowing that the Eagles can't miss when they fly Toget- her as ONE. The caps and gowns were wine colored, and each girl carried a pink carnation. The speaker for the commencement exercises was Reverend Petznik, a mar- riage counselor from Fort Wayne, ln- diana. His address was, Using What You Have. The class valedictorian was Nellie Young, and the class salutatorian was Anne Zumbrun. lVlr. Jacob Delagrange announced each graduate while lVlr. Everett Jones, the president of the school board, awarded each with a diploma. The emptiness of the first row symbolizes the final goal of twelve years. As Mr. Delagrange announces each graduate, Mr. Jones presents his diploma. Mel Egolf proudly shows off his newly- earned diploma. Cowbeib Pat's Cafe C. F.
