Such sports as softball, basket- ball, soccer, and tumbling were just some of the activities enjoyed by most freshman. Those interested in driving were learning basic function of the en- gine and then later practiced their skills on the road with caution.

Through many themes, book reports, and daily assign- ments, the students eventually be- came prepared to tackle term papers and critical analysis. Speech, an age old subject at CHS, was offered to all high school students who were interested in developing their speaking habits. Nlr. Norman taught them to speak without fear, demonstrate without fumbling and debate the current issues of the day.
