Queen, Anne Fleicke, Senior attendants, Debbie Gaff, and Cherri Mag- gart, Junior attendant: Susan Dailey, Sophomore attendant, Kathi Salesman, Freshman attendant, Donna Fry. The 1970-71 Homecoming was a huge success in spite of the weather. Rain put a damper on the parade, but could do nothing to dampen the spirit of the Eagles. Had you been one of the rain-soaked fans, you would have felt the excitement as John Long caught a pass from Steve Cassidy for a touchdown and as Gary Byrd kicked the ball 48 yards for a field goal. The 9-O shutout wasn't the only excitement. At halftime Anne Fieicke was crowned queen and presented with red roses.

It was difficult to be peaceful and to understand others when so many changes were taking place, molding the lives of people everywhere. Probably never before have teenagers witnessed so many na- tional incidents that affected both their present and future lives. But somehow, despite all the misgivings of life, the students of Churubusco High School were able to grasp their portionsof life and hang on. We forced ourselves to car- ry on the customs and way of life expected of high schoollstudents. For even though the outside world seemed so distant, it was in reality, very near and with the pace of the world speeding up so fast, we found ourselves creating, A Time For Us.

ep Sessions Build up Eagle Qpirii A gymnasium full of kids, resonant noise, and a squad of cheerleaders was the setting of a CHS pep session. The cheerleaders worked up spirit with the students before each big eagle game. Various clubs also participated in the pep sessions with an original skit or two. During the year we sponsored a lVlr. Legs contest with Terry Papenbrock victorious. Two pep rallies were held before Carroll football game and before the sectional. All in all, a CHS pep session was a must for the Eagle teams.
