'fm It was way back in 1957 that we. the class of '59, started. Because there were more of us little first graders than ever before. another teacher was required to handle us. Out of our original number of 51 uneducated little tots, there now remain 24 of us sophisticated seniors. During our 12 years of attempted education, many of our friends left our class and many others joined. Considering this, it is interesting to note that the number of our beginning class is the same as our graduating class-51. Our first year of high school brought many new members into our class. They came from Busco's suburbs -Green Center and Collins. Since then, they have become some of our most devoted friends and classmates. As most freshmen do. we found our first year of high school something to adjust to. We enjoyed many hilarious experiences as we bowed down to our upperclassmen. But then, after we had finally adjusted to high school. we experienced something new at our school. Our beautiful new school was completed. We moved into our new SENIOR OFFICERS Tom Roberson. What queer looking desks. Look at the size of that gym, IVIy. what a spacious and beauti- ful school. VVe certainly loved our new school: it took such a long time to come to Churubusco. In our junior year we experienced a revolution in the grading of our citizenship. It swept over us like the Black Plague, Gloom and grief were everywhere. What was this great force that tor- mented us? Nothing else but the demerit system. It was rumored that in the first several weeks of this new system an adding machine was necessary to figure up all the demerits. But we soon learn- ed to live with it. and we managed to get our class average up to about a Our junior year also brought with it some changes and the prom to plan. We worked very hard at these, and the results were great. Our junior store hit a new high in sales and our prom was a tremendous success. Our senior year was certainly the most busy year of our school life. There was the senior trip to plan, graduation exercises, the class play. magazine sales. fish frys. and tests. tests. tests. Besides all these activities, many of us were plan' ning what we were to do after we graduated. Some of us decided to go on to college. others chose their occupations. and still others had jobs waiting for them. Our class is certainly proud of its members. We have some of the greatest athletes and scholars this school has ever possessed. From our class rise the citizens of tomorrow. We have just passed our first step in establishing our own place in God's world. We thank you, the people of our school. for the teaching and guiding of our minds towards our goals in making these our Moments To Re- member. JAMES L.
