Lawrence Gordon, Dale Roberson. bi The first of October, 40 boys responded to the call for basket ball by Mr. Phil- lips, After several weeks of training the boys went to Arcola where they scored the first victory of the year by a margin of 2 points over their opponents. The next week the boys went to Larwill where they sc-oied another vit-toiyg however, the next night they we1'e not so fortunate and were defeated in an overtime game by 2 points. During Jannaiy the boys were quite successful and won all of the six games played. But February proved to be an unlucky month, the boys losing five games out of six. On Nlarch 4 our boys went to Kendallvifle where they entered the' set'- tionarl basket lrall IOlllllDlll9llt only to meet defeat in the first. game. which they played with Albion. This year only three regulars graduated, these three being Bob Nickey. l'nc-as Burris and Dale Robelson. Our boys made a total of 484 points during the season while, their opponents scored only 469. Bob Nickey was high point man for the season with Fneas Burris as sec-ond and Red McCullough thi1'd.
