As young graduates setting out in the world, we look back over our school days and realize that without the untiring patience, love, and sacrifices of our parents, many of us would not be graduating now. They were always near to comfort us and to give us the encouraging smile and reassurance we needed from the first grade when we stubbed our toe, on through high school when we had a fight with our best boyfriend or girlfriend. They sacrificed buying things for themselves so that we might get something new; and whenever we made mistakes, they were always willing to forgive us. We want to take this opportunity to thank them from the bottom of our hearts for everything they have done for us. To Miss Pitsenbarger, we also owe a great deal. She has always been willing to give us extra help in any difficult subject and to do everything possible to make our school days more enjoyable. She’s always willing to forgive us if we get a little rowdy in class and she’s ready to give her full support in any worthwhile project we undertake. For all of her help and patience with us, we want to say thank you. THIS PAGE IS SPONSORED BY: KLOTZ BROS. 202 S. Lewis St. Staunton, Virginia THE NATIONAL VALLEY BANK W. Martha Houseman George Baylor THIS PAGE IS SPONSORED BY: WESTERN AUTO ASSOCIATION 121 W. Beverley St. Staunton, Virginia 60 WORTHINGTON HARDWARE 26 W. Beverley St. Staunton, Virginia Class Prophecy Through the years since 1959, the accomplish¬ ments of twenty-eight noted persons have appeared in newspapers, movies, and television programs throughout the nation. The credit for their success goes to the school from which they graduated, Churchville High School, located in Churchville, Virginia. A collection of these noted persons achieve¬ ments are as follows: Nancy Cook is the president of the P.T.A. at Churchville Consolidated High School. Her four children are students of the school mentioned. Mary Hodge has accomplished her goal as co¬ owner of the Harris Ford Company. I see she still rides around in that Black ’49 Ford. Martha Houseman is happily married and is going to tour the U.S. with her husband to survey new highway locations. Judy Ashby, a student of Longwood College, has received the most outstanding graduate award for her tireless efforts to unnerve the professors. Judy Shinaberry is now operating a cattle farm located in the western part of Virginia. She is married, incidentally, to the very well-known Ray Strickler. Mr. Mrs. David Kanagy are receiving con¬ gratulations on the arrival of twins. Mrs. Kanagy is the former, Betty Jordan. Barbara Hamilton has just returned from Michigan where she attended a convention with her husband. She lives in Pennsylvania, but she is visiting her family and friends. Nancy Fullen has just recently purchased a yacht. She plans to spend several months abroad to search for her one and only. Next week in New York City the famed couple, Mr. Mrs. Harry Taliaferro Jr. will make their debut at the Flamingo Club. They are striking figures in the E nter tainm ent and Sports Car Columns. Joyce Harris is doing fine with her acting career, she will appear on Broadway next week in the famed, A Midsummer Night Dream by William Shakespeare. Fayth Armstrong is doing fine as the private secretary for Byron McWhorter ' s Used Car Lot. They travel everywhere together and buy used cars. Fayth is a graduate of Smithdeal-Massey Business College in Richmond. Glenda Botkin graduated from Smithdeal- Massey Business College with high honors. She is going to announce her engagement soon. Billy Kesner is a famous stock car racer. He has appeared on T.V. programs all over the nation and success is the true means for his wealth. George Baylor, an engineer for United Steel Company, has just returned from England. Engineers must be making good money these days. He built the first bridge across the Atlantic Ocean. In Washington, D.C. President Merle Dodson, is going to spend the weekend with baseball hero, John Madison Hoy. Barry Dula has just returned from a tour of the world. He is a wizzardat Geometry and his hobby is playing baseball for the Hawaii Surfboarder’s team. Douglas VanLear has won the American Farmer Award for being out-standing farmer, citizen, and father. Alwyin Botkin, a well-known apple packer is appearing on a new T.V. series, Keep Packing. John Lockridge has a show of his own in Holly¬ wood. All the movie agents are after him to do a movie of his life. He ' s doing well in the entertain¬ ment world. Billy Ralston is the Republican representative from Alaska. He is a happily married man and seems to enjoy the cool indifference of the Demo¬ crats. Billy Botkin, a teacher at Churchville Consoli¬ dated High School, has just recently been appointed head of the Bookkeeping Department. Billy Armstrong has just returned from a tour of the world. He owns jelly factories in all parts of the U.S. as well as abroad. Patsy Shull has financial troubles. As owner of the Shull Printing Co. she has lost millions with the destruction of school books. While watching a new T. V. program, Famous Quotations, whom should I see but Penny Karicofe as hostess. Peggy Starrett is appearing at the National Art Gallery to represent one of her paintings. She will then return to the orphanage she has just built for homeless, needy children. Jean Nichols is now operating model agencies all over America. She is doing well with figures, I hear. She is still looking for her one and only. Did you read the article in The Maryland Leader about Mrs. Jimmy More, former Peggy McWhorter? She has just been chosen The Mother of The Year.
