Miller was the class sponsor of the forty-three freshmen who entered. We elected the following officers: President - Billy Finkg Vice President - Patsy Moyersg Secretary - Sarah Good- mang and Treasurer - Shirley Wagner. S. C, A. representatives were Vera Graham and Billy Fink with Delores Viel and Joe Cox representing us on the Honor Court. The highlight of our Freshman year was the F,H.A. Kitchen Band which was made up of ten of our girls. The band, under the direction of Mrs. Karl Teufel, presented sever- al programs during the year. We entered our Sophomore year with twenty-seven members and had as our class sponsor, Colonel Thomas J. Randolph. Officers elected were: President - Delores Vielg Vice President - Vera Grahamg Secretary - Patsy Moyersg Treasurer - Shirley Wagnerg and Reporter and Historian - Sarah Goodman. Shirley Wagner and Billy Fink were our Honor Court Representatives and Delores Viel and Bobby Lessley served as S. C. A. re- presentatives. l During the year we chose our class To have a friend is to be one. Our colors were red and white and our flower wggfxjtiie red rosa. in .ayg ,A We started our Junior year with nineteen members and had as class sponsor, Miss Mary E. Pitsenbarger. Our officers were President - Vera Grahamzviod President - Patsy Moyers, Secretary - Sarah Goodmans Treasurer - Virgie Sandyg - Eugenia Mon- goldg and Historian - Sarah Goodman. Vera Graham and Joe Heveuk were our S. C. A. representatives and Doris McLain and Billy Fink were our Honor Court representatives. One of the greatest achievements during the you was our Junior Play, Leave It To Us , which was presented in the spring. Several of the Junior girls entered the local forensic meet. Eugenia Mongold had a part in the One-act play which won honors in the district. Shirley Wagner and Shirley Graham won the local prose and poetry reading contests. We were proud that the Judge of the Honor Court, Eugenia Mongold, and President of the local chapter of F. H. A., Delores Viel, came from the Junior Class. However, it W3tn't'all work and no play. In the spring the Juniors entertained the Seniors with a mic at Coiner SPIHISS near Waynesboro. The Junior girls made a nice showing in the F etball activities of the school.Patsy Moyers and Juanita Hanger were two of the schoo1'3 cheerleaders. 7 We entered outjSeniot year. with seventeen members - fifteen girls and two boys. Our class sponsor is Miss Mary Pitsenbarger.Our officers are:President - Sarah Goodmang Vice Pres i den t - Shirley Graharng Secretary - Eugenia Mongold: Treasurer - Virgie Sandyg and Reporter - Vera Graham. Sarah Goodman, Vera Graham, and Billy Fink are our S. C, A,representatives and Edna Hartman and Joe Hevener represent us on the Honor Court. In the fall we presented theSenior Play, Take Three Girls , under the direction of Miss Pitsenbarger. Vera Graham was elected Editor-In-Chief of The Globe , upon which work was begun immediately after the play was presented. The President of the S.C. A., Eugenia lMongold, and the Judge of the Honor Court, Sarah Goodman, came from the Senior C ass. The seniors again participated in the athletic activities of the school.Palsy Moyers was the head cheerleader of the school. We, t.he Class of 1954, are looking forward to receiving our diplomas in June and stepping forward to take our places in the world. After so long a time, her one and only and is happily married and living in Craigsville. Delores Viel worked at Snyder's Jewel Box for awhile after graduation but now is married. Patsy Moyers went to Maryland to work for awhile, but she said she just oouldn't stand it, and she came back to Virginia. She and Larry Knicely now live in one of the pretty new homes in Hillcrest. ltold them that after graduating from Flora Macdonald College, I taught in an elementary school for a couple years.
