WITNESSES: Mrs. Iris S. Price Mrs. Minnie B. Horn 'Jean Annette Cupp IIIASS PIHIPIIHIY February 29, 1962 Dear John, Ihave been back on a visit to Churchville. As I was passing through the village Inoticed the barber shop still there. Needing a trim I sauntered in. Guess who the barber is. Bob Mongold, himself, and with as great a nose for news as ever. As he cut we talked and as he had no more immediate customers our chat became a lengthy one. I-lere's some of the news I received of our graduating class of '52, Jean Cupp finished college and has been teaching. She still would prefer life as a housewife. Charles Strickler, Qyou remember Diz y is now general manager of Dupont, and Gayle Miller is his assistant and really has a brilliant future. Two of the girls, Joanne Smith and Nancy Malcom became nurses. They must have become doggone good ones as they are at Mayo Clinic and are competitors for the position of head nurse. I understand Elsie Kelley has gone places in the entertainment world. She has her own T. V. show. Betty Kline is her secretary and Man-Friday. Really Keeps Elsie's business matters very efficiently. Oh, and I almost forgot, Gordon Fink is on this show, quite a commedian. He is to be married soon to an attractive model. We know her as Helen Williams. Virginia Jackson is the proud mother of two sons, but wait until you hear thisg Mrs. Jared Collins fPhyllis Shinault has sixj. Barbara tColawj Martz is another contented housewife and mother. She has three children, twin boys and a girl. S. A. Lockridge is now Dean of Washington and Lee University and Caroline Goodman is the Dean of Mary Baldwin. I understand S. A. has developed quite an appreciation for good music, particularly when Caroline plays for him. Virgil Losh and Ervin Jordan have a plush bowling alley-pool hall combination in Richmond and are really dragging in the chips. Mrs. Alfred Graham QPattie Thomasl is now keeping books for the Mower Co- mpany Inc. Charlene Moneymaker is settled down living quietly in Churchville. Bob told me she married some local boy but I can't seem to remember who. Two others of our classmate have gone far afield. Betty Lou Buzzard is the Secretary to the President of Standard Oil of New Jersey. Dick Collins is playing pro basketball. I saw him in action the other night in a game televised from the Garden. I am still holding down my job with Soil Conservation in Washington. I surely am glad to hear you and Audrey are doing so well. I understand you have a fine thing in your car agency and garage. Let me hear from you sometime. Sincerely, Robert Guinn ......1...l..+.1GL., , ,M Sl lllll MASS HISHIIIY The class of '52 entered its freshman year in 1948 with Miss Jean Gilbert as sponsor.
