Mr, Gould, who was taken seriously ill early in the school year was not able to be present when the picture was taken, Of the many offices which American citizens are called to fill, school- board membership is one of the most important, because the policies which they formulate determines how well or how poorly the children of a given district will be cared for from the standpoint of education. Pure democracy is still in effect at the school district level, and in no other political area do the people, at large take such an active interest. Our board members who serve without remuneration of any kind should have the whole-hearted support of our people. They need your continuing assistance in doing the tremendous job of educating the American Citi- zens of Tomorrow, l 8
