Our Board of Education continues to be busy with plans to provide education for Churchville-Chili Central Schoo1's expanding population. The carpenters' strike during the summer of 1955 upset plans for entering the new school on Fairbanks Road and necessitated the installation of curtailed sessions for grades one through six during the first part of the year. However, even before the new school was finished the Board was moving ahead on plans to increase our High School facilities which are definitely overcrowded. The CREST staff salutes the members of the Board for their unselfish and unfailing efforts to give us the best school possible in our community. 9 H P H9 MWPHWW Mr. C. E. 9' This year is very important in Churchville-Chili history since it saw the opening of our new Elemen- tary School on Fairbanks Road. Due to a carpenter strike it was not available at the beginning of school and for a number of weeks the elementary pupils were inflicted with the curtailed session. However, everyone agrees that the new school was worth waiting for. The new school has twenty-four classrooms with a large playroom and an auditoria. 'Phe kitchen in the new school has a place for central cooking for the other schools of the district. In addition, aside from the health suite and the library, there is a very fine set of offices. Twenty-one of the twenty-four rooms were occupied as soon as they became available by about six hundred and thirty pupils. Unfortunately the High School building at Churchville is becoming so crowded that it will be necessary to use some of the Fairbanks Road School for the seventh grade next year, .Y n ,KAKK g Q X X.. .-X Wes., 8 L
