l N M-,LMQRJ JU -.e if 5 E, the class of '53 wish to pause for a moment in memory of a true friend. Although she was with us only a few short years, she had made friends with all of us and participated whole-heartedly in all activities. Therefore, in memory of Sally Jo, we extend this small memoriam of our thoughts, which will remain with her forever. Z0

APR EC,YKf CYLASH! Charles Herbert Shakeshaft, noted tycoon, has just made his tenth billion manufacturing false fingernails! This bit of news appeared in the local newspaper recently, and it got me to thinking. I wonder what could have happened to the rest of my class, that wonderful class of 1953. Herby certainly has done well. It's 1985 already. My how time has flown! I wonder how they're making out. Let's see how many of them I can recall--David Buss-now, he was a masculine guy, if I ever saw one. I wonder what the rest of the class would say if they knew he sewed lace on silk hankies. And Fritz Hoehn- writing Advice to the Lovelorn! He never was much for that stuff, as I remember. Many of the class have traveled. As a matter of fact, John Smith has just left for Holly- wood to become Marilyn Monroe's fifth husband. Fran Lins is in the middle of the Pacific somewhere- he's chief tom-tom beater of the Bongo-Bongo tribe. Bucky Girven set out in a canoe to find Fran, but now he has settled on a nearby desert island and is running a very profitable Z4-hour diner. Anne MacMaster has traveled throughout the entire world, giving exhibitions of her skill on the pogo-stick. Didn't you know she was the worlds' champion pogo-stick bouncer? Bob Gruendike works with Barnum and Baileys' circus- he's a tight rope dancer. Nancy Johnson is in Africa now-she's the chief potato peeler in the WACS and must travel with the job, of course. Joyce Preston is a tea-bag-tag-tier. I can't figure out exactly what that means, but it must be awfully interesting work. Many of the class of '53 are famous personalities. Why, just the other night, I saw David Chamberlain on my TV set. I hear he has a steady job impersonating Rudolph Valentino in television films. Tom Steinhoff is doing a great job for his country- he's a top research scientist for the Atomic Fertilizer Corp. I guess his best customer is Elmer Cummings. We all knew he'd become a farmer, and he has the prettiest dark-haired milk maid. Jerry Peckham is in the scientific field too. He's the chief mechanic on an electronic kiddy car. Bruce Pomeroy is a politician with the Vegetarian Party. I knew he would get a job arguing. It was in the cards. Doris Roach has just been unanimously elected the sixth member of the Firehouse Five. She always was jazzy. Jim Wheeler trains fleas for flea circuses, and makes so much money that he had his first flea cast in bronze. It's an impressive list, to be sure, but some of the class will be long remembered for their work to improve the life of the American citizen. For in- stance, Sandra Sage designs cuspidors for hotel lobbies. Away with those old-fashioned spitoons! Mary Ann Kendrot is another graduate who thinks of nothing but the welfare of others. Upon graduation, she sold the family car and established a Home For Way- ward Boys. Guy Ellinwood was always against Demon Rum when in high school, and his future was clear to us all, for he is now the president of the local W.T.C.U. and has worked unceasingly for the abolishment of the local saloon. It appears that Barb Foos is against Guy's theory, however, for she has a wonderful job polishing beer barrels for the Pabst Co. Mrs. Hazel B. Spotts is a model in her husband's Fire Extinquisher Co. Hm-- m--m, I wonder how she fits that into the business! Nellie May Howe has become the worlds' leading business woman. How? She makes gold-plated toothpicks for million- aires like Herby. That girl always had ingenuity. I just leafed through my paper again, and what do you think? Dick Eichelberg has just won the 3rd prize in a world-wide waltz marathon--imagine that! And on the literary page- The Evils of Ping Pong, By Carol Way, has gone into its fifth printing, and the author has announced that she will soon be- gin work on a sequel, Never Trust A Man. Our wonderful class has gone far, I can see that. But what about Mrs. Knapp, our advisor? I received a letter just the other day from The Rest-A-While Home for Retired School Teachers. Now I wonder-could it have been our class that ---- no, of course not-or could it ---------- ? Z1
