After discussing several possible themes, the Crest staff finally chose the Mexican theme. We made this choice not only because it is different and out of the ordinary, but be- cause Mexico, our closest neighbor, is very gay and interesting country. We all hope that you will enjoy our 1952 Crest. 511618521117-IL KW!!! Mrs. Widener Demaris Girven 'Rl x .1 THE YEARBOOK STAFF BIG sigh of relief was heard coming from the yearbook staff one day in February when the 1952 Crest ' was finally completed and sent to press. After many months of hard work by all and such questions as, What is a master sheet? or, What is a layout? , our yearbook was finally ready for publication. The art work was expertly carried out by Bill Dennis and Marge Vail, with help from the Junior Art editor, Sandra Sage. Our literary department was under the able direction of Audrey Baker, with Marlene Brandt and the Juniors, Carol Way, Donna Hutchings, and Jack Kreck- man lending a hand. Charlie Daycock and his staff were kept very busy when it came time to take the yearbook pictures. After several hectic days, however, -we all man- aged to survive. Had it not been for the work of two of our members, Bill Holley and Eugene Adams, our yearbook would not be in existence, for they went out and got the ads. They wish the best of luck next year to Donald Girven Jr. and Barb Foos, on the Advertisement Staff. Our typists, Joyce Dickens and Betty Johnson, who were lent a helping hand by the Juniors, Hazel Bater, Nellie Howe, Nancy Johnson, and Junior-editor Doris Roach were kept busy typing the material and meeting deadlines. We would like to thank all those who helped make this year's Crest a suc- cess. Our advisor, Mrs. Widener, and Mr. Taylor and Mrs. Kirbywho also gave US 3 helping hand, deserve our most sincere thanks. Thank you all, Demaris Girven, EDITOR 6 I
