The 19 9 junior Prom The 1959 prom was one of the most beautiful ever held in our school. The theme. Candyland.i' was carried out in red and white ceiling which attached to a large hanging centerpiece filled with red and white balloons. At one end of the room was a white fence in which Welcome to Candylandi' was spelled out in candy canes. The orchestra. at the outer end of the room. was seated in a large candy box. Centering the floor was a ferris wheel in which dolls were riding. Other decorations included a candy tree in the entrance. four gingerbread men. and two candy sucker fences separating the tables from the dance floor. Joanne Pritchard made a very lovely queen in her white floor- length dress. , ' ' X xi s-R. rw wt we-A X I Mg AM a 'X X , 1 it I ' ' X I - u l - whilst ,Q xv y nl , x M vxi - . 1 ,Q-T.-x.,-. .,..,r AVYA ii l ll :ll lx ix l I ft l ll X ,-J EW h N 1 V ilu., .,k X X Ax ,:iE, 4. ww, f+L'i53gg1e- 2 li if L W ,i , 211 2'-JR Y L. It has zz past written in the lives and achievements of its grad- uates. written in life and unchangeahle. It is a good past which includes worthy accomplishments. high aspirations which have heen realized. and lives well-lived. 0l'RS is this school at this moment. Regardless of what our predecessors have done. we are this school today. Its experiences have heen our dailv conduct: its influence has heen our daily environment. This lmuli portrays as much of this mutual sharing as we can put on paper. The rest cannot he translated. it is our personalities: it is us. OIWRS is this school for all the future. lodav we liecome part of the past: today we begin to write with our lives the story of this school that will always be ours. It cannot he changed. so what we write in experience is our most important con- tribution to ourselves. our school. and our world. May we all strive together to live to our full capacity. never consciously doing less than our best for the good of all. Then. we can be assured that the world which is ours will he better. and that the school which is ours helped to make it so.
