l 'i W -Ei The educational crisis in the South supports the old adage, You never miss the water until the well runs dry. Statements from students in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Norfolk, Virginia, show that the students didn't realize what a big part of their lives was filled by school until the schools closed. The tact that education is a privilege and not a necessary evil has become very real to these young people, It given the opportunity, they would gladly go back to school, even if everything were not just as they would like. Stop and give a little serious thought to what school means to you. Students all over the United States should gain a deeper appreciation of schools and teachers because ofthe dilemma in the South.
