Under the able supervision of advisors. the class has sponsored uCandylandf' the freshman dance. and 'Tootball Davsf' the sophomore dance. As juniors they worked hard to make a success of Under the Sea. the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. This year the seniors sponsored the first formal dance, The Sno Ball. which was enjoyed by all who attended. Members of the senior class as they graduate will leave vacancies in every organization. They have shown an interest in all their school activities and proved their ability in sports by having several classmates on varsity teams. Those who are to follow in the seniors, footsteps will sincerely miss their leadership. and for those who remain there will be an emptiness caused by the seniors' departure. However, the class itself looks into the future which will bring the fulfillment of ambitions and see the reality of dreams. , FDDY ANIBLER PETE KENNEPOIII. ,. , MARY CORNU liII.I.lE LEA HOLMES BUZZ CIBBS lnot shown? BOB DE BRAGA Vice Presirlerzt , JIM CAINES Serretary TOM LAMB Treasurer PHIL BENSON The class of 1955 this year suddenly found them- selves grand old men of CCHS-upper classmen. Along with this added prestige, came new responsibili- ll ties and problems. but the juniors proved themselves equal to their new-found work. Under the direction of Mrs. Elmo Oxborrow, the Junior Class presented the annual play, Our Miss Brooksf, the proceeds of which went to the Junior- Senior Prom and Banquet. They sponsored the Junior Frolic and Junior assembly with a lot of patient help on the part of their advisors, Miss Anne Gibbs and Mr. James Halvarson. The junior class proudly presented the high school with two student body officers and five student council members who serv- ed the students well throughout the year. Members of the class participated in all activities and scholastic fields. The juniors look back with fond memories on their third successful year, but also look ahead to an even better year to come next year. juuirfrs 7, Roge-r Austin Sylvia Hartz U1-urgv llvail Phil llvnsnn llc-lla llianvhi J.-fl' llxllnng-ly Joann liuwe-rf Runalll llracllvy Sllirl:-y llruwn l.'Yu.' 511010111 Xlf-rwin lfartvr :six Ph.. .I 1 .. Churchill County High School is proud of its freshman class who have been outstanding in sportsmanship, scholarship and loyalty. The youngest in school, the class of 1908 have proven themselves tops in everything except seniority. The freshmen have earned for themselves a high place in Churchill County High School by adding members to Band, Clee Club. Alpha Lambda, GAA, Old English FQ, FHA, FTA and FFA. Last year the members earned enough money to send a delegate to the national convention held in Columbus, Ohio. In November, they sent six girls to the state convention held in Boulder City. The Future Homemakers put on a very inspiring assembly last fall and in the spring they sponsored their annual Sweetheart Dance. Other activities in- cluded planting flowers in front of school last spring, Christmas caroling, a dinner for their par- ents celebrating National FHA week, and selling at the concession stand during football season. They worked hard all year to earn money to send another delegate to the regional meeting to be held at Logan, Utah in July. All in all, the chapter has had a very successful year. Mrs. Ryan, their sponsor, and CCHS is very proud of the outstanding part the group has con- tributed to school activities! K' 'I o'9'CT:'i.10 This year FFA has gained local and nationwide recognition with tribute paid to them at the Na- tional 25th Anniversarv Convention held in Kansas. The local chapter has the honor of having the greatest number of National officers and American farmers during the past twenty-five years of any organization in the United States! Lonny Curry and Dave Evans played in the National Band at the convention in Kansas City. Mr. Schank, the local advisor, and Don Travis. past vice-president of the Pacific region. also at- tended the convention. Mitch Austin, Dennis Kirn, and Duane Dimmitt brought distinction to the chapter by being three out of four on the State Dairy Judging team at the National Dairy Show in Waterloo, Iowa. The team received honorable mention. Besides winning fame, the Future Farmers have worked hard on many chapter projects, one of which was the annual FFA auction sale. This alone brought 5:3540 to the chapter. Mr. Harry Bradley replaced Mr. Delbert Stewart as co-advisor with Mr. L. C. Schank. Aa. I Bm-lf row. Inf! Each class elected a boy and a girl to serve on a hoard headed hy Student Body Vice President Hay Trease. Fallon was the second school in the state to adopt this form of self-government. At the beginning of the vear there were numerous problems to he faced. One of the most difficult to solve was the students' lack of co-operation which was shown when they refused to serve on the Student Patrol. The Patrol consisted of students chosen luv the Committee to report inishehavior in every study hall period throughout the day. The names of offenders were turned in and demerits issued for improper conduct. The project was very successful. considering that this was the first year of its operation. It is the aim of the Student Government to gain the cooperation of the students and make them realize their responsibility in governing themselves in the study hall. Mrs. Sawyer, study hall instructor, acted as advisor and helped with the improve- ments of Student Government. it .ui '.5::,lg3:vi ' Q-ai -+ 4QiQ i S 1 I, Fi -' 3 1 u .
