YGUNG REPUBLICANS CLUB T he Christopher Newport College Young Republican Club was started on a suggestion that the college needed something to stimulate the student body's interest in government and politics. Therefore, the C lub, the first of its kind on campus, made its general purpose: Providing the student body the means for learning more about our two party system and the Republican Party in particular. The Club was active during the national campaign passing out literature concern- ing the ideals of the Republican Party and its candidate 's views on current issues. With the election over, the Club will continue its activities in order to achieve its goal of greater know- ledge of and interest in the political affairs of this country by the students of Christopher New- port College. 31
