STUDENT GOVERNMENT Mrs. K. Scott Fitzgerald, President The Faculty and Administration are valuable aids in the operation of the SGAby giving assist- ance in the areas of smdent activities, finance, and student needs for equipment. As the relationship b e tw e e n these three bodies solidifies, it promotes a trust and respect affecting the entire student body. This trust and respect is developed through the relationship of the SGA and the students. The SGA is composed of students selected by the members of their classes. It is their duty to represent their students' views and to present the views of the faculty and administration to the students. If this job is carried out effectively, then trust and respect will grow and insure the happiness, health, and hopefulness of the college. 24 The Student Government Association, composed of the Freshman and Sophomore Classes, the Assembly, and the four Student Government Officers, work together as a team for the betterment of school spirit. This school spirit is a combination of inter-student, student-faculty and student- administration relationships. This corre- lation is necessary for the efficiency of this school to be maintained in a pleasant at- mosphere. The explaining of this correlative pro- cess begins with the SGA- Faculty-Adminis- tration relationship. Under the jurisdiction of the SGA are the many policies set by the faculty and administration. Many times these policies are developed in consultation with the Student Government members, they include parking regulations and orientation. The acceptance of these responsibilities is essential to an efficient college program. Bob Gray Ronnie Hunt Business Manager Advertising Manager The 1965 edition of the Trident boasts many improvements over last year's edition. For one thing, several color pictures have been added, and the original size of the yearbook has been expanded. Also, the staff designed its own cover this year. The entire staff takes much pride in this year's Trident and hopes that it will meet with the approval of the student body. If it doesn't, maybe you should try publishing a yearbook. 26
