CLASS POEM UNTO GOD! 'Twas evening, when I rose to walk amidst the silent trees, My restless spirit spurred me on, but i grew faint, and fell upon my knees Oh God, where is the peace of mind promised to my heart? Have I not done Thy holy will? I saw His hands outstretched to me, He in them held a rusty key. I took the key, 'twas then I saw the door to SERVICE open to all. I entered, yet two doors I saw with paths so often trod. The one was labeled UNTO MAN, the other UNTO GOD. I stood and gazed upon the one, that one as dark as night, but then I saw the other, which to me looked warm and bright. I took my key, and opened wide the door to service UNTO GOD, and there I met the classmates who with me the paths of service trod. There we beheld His blessed face and arms yet still outstretched, but then, below, we saw the many souls of people yet unreached. We heard the call, we saw the need, much work must yet be done. We'll take our keys and place them in the hand of God's dear Son. He'll smile upon us, and He'll know we'll strive to do our part with all our soul, and strength, and might, yes, even with our heart. And now as life before us waits we know which path we all must take. UNTO GOD we came, He heard our plea, we now to Him must yielded be. Lord, grant that as we follow Thee through paths though yet untrod. Our goal may always clearer be - we live not unto man, but UNTO GOD. - Marie Gehman Class motto: Unto God!
