FORE ORD The students of Christopher Dock Mennonite School herewith pre- sent the first issue of the SHUL-ANDENKEN, The SHUL-ANDENKEN, German for school memories or thinking about school, records the activities of the 1954-55 school year. We present the administration, students, activities, and patrons of our school. Because we have no graduating class this year, we have stressed the historical aspects of the school's founding and of the school property. We trust that you will become better acquainted with the school with our yearbook as your guide. 4

The large, three -story, rectangular house was beautified by Mr. I. Carroll Johnston and now serves as the school Administration Building, pictured on the frontispiece. In the first years of the 18th centruy, Jan Lukens, a Dutch settler, purchased a 500-acre tract, east of what has since become Kulpsville.
