There was a young girl from Manhattan, Strutting Seniors full of pride, Who elected a sequence in Latin, Short or tall or thin or fat. She learned hic, haec, hoc, Each of whom has surely tried But found it no joke, Many ways to wear his hat. Now she knows she's no Latin from Manhattan. EDITH Lfxcozra Soma BuRs'ruN There once was a student so dumb There was an old teacher in high, Who all day chewed peanuts and gum, Who used the expression, Oh my! The teacher went daft, One day she walked in, And forever aft, Her class gave a grin, The student was made to stay hum. For her glasses were perched on her chin. SAt'L REICHBACH There once was a pretty young lass, Who always was tops in her class, My math is always right, And with all her learning In Latin I don't slip. The toast she keeps burning, My teachers call me bright, The fate of the learned-Alas! The students call me drip. Free from homework, free from books. Conscience clear of teachers' looks, Life is gay and full of fun' The atomic age has just begun. BERTHA GREENBAUB1 f Y Jn' sl ' 1 . 44 X Y A as ' A 1 V 25 1:1

Seniors There once was a senior named Ioe, Seniors are so light and gay, His trumpet he'd constantly blowg Soon comes graduation day. NINA Locfxscio ANITA SILVERMAN There once was a Senior named Smitty Thinking of Columbus and the fun they had, Who ran after girls who were prettyg The poor little graduates are all so sad. He was absent from class Wiping their eyes, And never did pass, Uttering deep sighs . . . He's a senior once more, what a pity! Quick doc, look at me, am I going mad. GRETTA SHOTEN PHYu.1s PoDo1uaFsxY Km Senior What is that thing upon their heads, That faded blue creation, That thing that's scribbled and laden down With a million complications? And pray who are those people Who pass in costumes strange. For what's come over Columbus High, What's brought about this change? Who are they . . . what are those . . . Gosh, it's the talk of the town For goodness sake, they're the Seniors And that Blue Thing' is their crown. ANITA SILVERMAN 24
