HIGH SCHOOL Tis education from the common mind, Just as the twig is bent the tree’s inclined.’ TREES By Joyce Kilmer I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree, A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast; A tree that looks at God all day, And lifts her leafy arms to pray; A tree that may in summer wear A nest of robins in her hair; Upon whose bosom snow has lain Who intimately lives with rain. Poems are made by fools like me, But only God can make a tree.

The “Demon Staff has endeavored to compile a yearbook that depicts our school life in a different manner from that used in former years. “Trees” is our Theme. Beginning with the Faculty as the roots—the very foundation upon which our school is built—we trace our classes, clubs, athletics, work, and all ac¬ tivities and interests until we have com¬ pleted the comparison with the growth of the tree.
