Vesper Board Officers THE V ESPEB BOAHD, responsible for the Thursday evening vesper services held in the'Chapel, is one of the most active or- ganizations on. the campus. One of the main projects of the Board is to sponsor Religion in Life Week. The Vesper Board members' are se- lected for their interest in the activities of the Board, leadership ability, and out- standing character. This group tries to lead the .students in a closer and happier religious life throughout the year. Pggg 112 September 22: Seemed so wonderful to get back to Christian and see all of last year's friends and meet the juniors, especially my little sisters. The Cannon Ball is the same as ever! September 23: I tried to get my room cleared of all baggage and boxes and took my Ulittle sisters to the faculty-student reception. I was glad to see all the old instructors back and meet the new ones. September 25: The Pajama Party and talent show. Ginger's pantomine was really tops and the other talent was great. We serenaded the juniors after lights. September 27: Dean Johnson held open house for the juniors and the next week was the first MU mixer. Everyone met real nice boys. V October 13: VV e hiked out to the farm for a picnic. We all were starved by the time we got there and the food was delicious. 1 October 18: I cleaned my room 'til it shone. Reason? The room decoration contest. October 28: State clubs had been meeting to produce the marvelous skits presented at the Halloween Party Kay and Judy made such cute queens ' A October 30 Barnwarmin at MU Hal Mclntire and his orchestra made it the perfect evening November 14 This was the Autumn Ball in the gym It was beautifully decorated and my date was perfect November 26 Thanksgiving was a perfect day with the senlors winning the annual hockey game 0 The dinner made me avoid the scales for a few days with all that turkey and its trimmings December 3 Mr Angel opened as the first drama production of the year December 4 Several of the buds attended the International Horse Show in Chicago Mom was one of the judges December 8 The traditional tree lighting ceremony on front campus sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa The chimes made it even more effective December 10 The Christmas Formal at the Tiger Hotel Marilyn and the guls who helped her did a wonderful job with the theme Silver Bells December I3 The Choral Club gave their annual program at the Christian Church . . , . . . . . . . +I . . . . . . . . 6 . . . . . . , cc ' as ' . - - cs as .Q 0' . : I . . -.01 . 4 . January fl: A trip on the Cannon Ball after three perfect weeks at home. 1 January 15: The Sock Hop in Hughes Bec. I now have one pair of greenish gray socks. January 23: The juniors won the swim meet 40-38. All the girls did a fine job of competing. January 27: My little sistersw and all the juniors looked so pretty at the Junior Banquet. The Mardi Gras was the theme. 2 5, February 2-5: Finals! No comment. 'll February 13: Joyce, Judy, Betty, and Virginia were crowned queens of Cupid Capers, the Valentine Dance. February 19: For 38 girls, this was the most exciting day of the year. They left with Mr. and Mrs. i Bedford for a nine-day educational tour of Bermuda. 1 February 23: The Honor Assembly. Oh well, everyone can't make the grade. February 25: Cinderella opened with a full house, featuring a new revolving set designed by Mr. Williams. if March 6: The Black and White Night Club Dance. ' The proceeds went to the World University Q Service to help needy students all over the world. ' March 14-18: Religion in Life Week was an inspirational one for all of us. Ann and all the com- mittees did a swell job making it so. The newly decorated Chapel added so much to it. March 21: The Biding Club left for the Tattersall Sales in Kentucky. 1 March 22: The annual water show. The theme was Water Carnival. The girls really put on a wonderful show. April 2: Home for Spring Vacation! 1 April 11: Last trip back on the Cannon Ball. Page 114 April 25: The Choral Club presented their Spring Concert in the auditorium. April 20: The seniors were entertained at a luncheon by the Christian College Club. May 1: The Senior Dance in Missouri Hall Parlors. It was beautifully decorated and the floor was wonderful, thanks to the juniors. May 6: The last drama production, Brief Music. It marked the closing of a successful year. May 12: The seniors attended their banquet in the dining room. May 22: The Spring Dance at the Country Club. The new Twelfth Night officers proved their ability to do a marvelous job. J une 6: The first of our Commencement activities took place. The seniors and their parents were serenaded in the dining room by the juniors. That night was Baccalaureate at the Christian Church. June 7: IVY CHAIN! The realization which came over me when Linda cut the ivy between my roommate and me. The feeling I had when juniors came up to get their roses. The Sunset Supper was on back campus and afterward the Commencement Pageant in which Sue Lockhart was crowned queen The Horse Show was wonderful The girls and Mom really worked hard to make this show one of the best ever .I une 8 Graduation' The end of two wonderful years at Christian No matter how far we go we ll always remember those days we spent here Pg 115 Q .
