In addition, he was given the title Intramural Athletic Coordinator. With an enthusiasm that bubbles over into everyone working with him, Father Nobile has introduced a variety of sports to the students. Wrestling, boxing, bridge, chess, ping pong, billiards, soccer, and track are several of the new intramural sports this year. i l .m 13

What it lacks in availability is made up in spirit, as was shown during the basketball season. Basketball is the major varsity sport on campus and the one most frequented by the students. Athletic Director Chester Doll has also scheduled competition in tennis, track, cross-country, golf, and baseball. Among the foes that the Buccaneers have challenged are Tulsa University, Southwestern, Washington University of St. Louis, and Wabash College. The Battlin' Bucs are entered in the tough Volunteer State Athletic Conference for the fourth year. The athletic program is improving with each season. Each year the various teams become stronger and more experienced. John Henry Cardinal Newman once described a college in these words: 'git is a place for seeing galleries of first rate pictures, for hearing Wonderful voices, and performances of transcendent skill. In an attempt to create this center of excellence, CBC launched its Arts Program Series in 1968. This was done with the cooperation of Siena College and its Fine Art department. Part of the philosophy behind the entire series is the developing of the whole student. The well educated man of today needs more than specialized training in a specific field. These cultural programs are offered to fulfill such a need of the college students, friends, and alumni. The program's success so far is attested to by the response of the students.
