The Senior USXEIIHIJH can also be found in the various activities sponsored by organizations of the city and state. Gene Hogan won the American Legion contest in the District and placed second in the Zone. Con Foley took first place honors in the Key Club Oratorical Contest for the state of Montana, and Tom Schumacher took first place in the talent contest for the Montana District of Key Clubs. Steve Frankino placed first in the Elks Scholarship Contest. Con Foley also won first place in the Apologetics Contest for the Diocese of Helena. Con Foley was chosen as Editor-in-Chief ol the IQ54 Annual, with .lim McCarthy, Assistant Editorg Bill Loughrin, Business Managerg lim Driscoll, Photography Editorg John Sullivan, Liter- ary Editorg and Steve Frankino, Art Editor. Gene Hogan and Brian Tierney were Journal- ists, Skip Dunfee was typist, and Toni Schumacher did the lettering. And finally there are those boys who were always willing to help out. Those boys whose spirit, even though they are not participants, is equal to that of the participants. To these too, Central owes its greatness. Its greatness comes from spirit. The spirit of fight. The spirit oi 'Anever say diem. Yes this spirit of greatness is the spirit of Central, but more especially the spirit of the Senior Class of I954. UNDERCLASSMEN HGNORS IUNIOR HONORS Among those members of the junior Class who have received special honors during the year are the class officers: Mickey Hughes, President, Emmett Quinn, Vice Presidentg Vince Garvey, Secretary, Bill Connors, Treasurer of the junior 205. Louie Sullivan, Presidentg Ed Stretch, Vice President and Len Simon, Sec- retary-Treasurer of the Junior 304. jim Peoples, President-Vice President, and Ron Williams, Secretary-Treasurer of the junior 302. Martin Favero, Jerry Sul- livan, Jack Dornbos and joe D'Arcy were on the Annual Staff. Key Club claimed Clem Patritti as Vice President and President to be and Martin Favero as their next Secretary. jack Bonner received the honor of winning the American Legion Essay Contest and .lack Dornbos received honorable men- tion. Martin Favero served as the 2nd Vice President of the Band during the year, and Bob Petrino served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Monogram Club. SOPHOMORE HONORS The Sophomores who received the honor of leading their classes for the year were: Charles Canty, President, John Fabatz, Vice-President, and Gary Russell, Secretary-Treasurer of the Sophomore 306. Tom Lester, President, Jim Sullivan, Vice-President, Vic O'Leary, Secretary, and Guy Ossello, Treasurer of the Sophomore 303. Don James, President, Ken Mclilhenney, Vice-President, and Steve LaHood, Secretary-Treasurer of the Sophomore 203. Bob Noonan was chosen as the next Vice-President of Key Club and John VValsh served on the Annual Staff. FRESHMEN HONORS Those Freshmen chosen as class officers for the year were Mike Garvey President, Jerry Bugni, Vice President, Tom Konen, Secretary-Treasurer of the Freshman 301. Tom Bugni, President, Dennis Ferriter, Vice-Presidentg Len Vanio, Secretary: Val Tibbets, Treasurer of the Freshman 302. Don Peoples, Presidentg Robert Murray, Vice-President, and Bob Crnich, Secretary-Treasurer of Freshman 201. Bob McDonough brought laurels back to his class and school when he walked off with most of the honors in the skating contests in Banff, Canada.
