Those boys whose spirit, even though they are not participants, is equal to that of the participants. To these too, Central owes its greatness. Its greatness comes from spirit. The spirit of fight. The spirit oi 'Anever say diem. Yes this spirit of greatness is the spirit of Central, but more especially the spirit of the Senior Class of I954. THE SENIOR CLASS OF 1954 can look with much justified pride at their last year at Cen- tral. They have a record which any graduating class would be proud to hold. Five Seniors placed on the first string of the A.P. All-State Team: jay Sullivan, Herb Shan- non, Dick Roche, Glenn james and Harry Freebourn. Ralph Hocking placed on the second string and .jim Lee received honorable mention. An amazing record of seven players out of eleven receiving this honor. -jim Lee also was chosen among the Top Ten in the Northern Division of Basketball. Football is not the only thing that excelled at Central. The leadership of the Senior Class and the spirit displayed by it equal any high school anywhere. With President, Dick Roche, Vice President, Steve Frankinog Secretary, Tom Schumacher and Treasurer, jay Sulli- van at the healm of Senior 202, and Skip Dunfee, President, -joe Nevin, Vice President, and Don Murphy, Secretary-Treasurer of Senior 102, the Class of 1954 has left some very impres- sive footprints in the sands of time. The leadership of the group was not confined merely to class, however. The various organizations of the school also bore the earmarks of the reigning seniors. Neil Bolton and Dick Roche were Co-Captains of the Football Team. Ralph Hocking, President, and Dick Roche, Vice-President, conducted the affairs of the Monogram Club. The Key Club had a most successful year under President, Steve Frankinog Secretary, Con Foley, and Treasurer, -john Sul- livan, while Bill Finlen served as Convention Chairman.
