Championship Game After three quarters of struggling, arch-rivals Melrose and C.B.H.S. re- mained locked in a 0-0 tie. The Purple Wave had had a frustrating night. In the first quarter, fullback Duane Don- ahoo raced 39 yards for an apparent touchdown-the mn being nullified by a clipping penalty. With 70 seconds left in the game the Brothers, under the leadership of sub- stitute quarterback Tom Schaffler, had driven to the Wildcat 22. Unable to budge another inch with a fourth and six situation, Coach Nix sent instruc- tions for John Fox to attempt a field goal. Every Brother supporter present took to the air as the ball sailed 39 yards, easily splitting the uprights. For the second straight year the MIAA throne was ours. T.
