The Chess Club, a very unpublicized club around campus, has some ofthe most enthusiastic supporters of any organiza- tion. Weekly meetings and daily matches attest to this backing. Entering club and city-wide tournaments gave members an opportunity to display their talents. Under the expert guidance ot' Brother Denis, members vastly improved their knowledge ofthe game. The Debate Club is the newest mem- ber to the campus. They received lec- tures from Mr. Gossett on the rules of debating. The purpose of these inter- esting lectures is to prepare the future debaters for actual combat against oth- er high school debate clubs.
