Through his efforts the Shack of ye ste rday became the Boulevard School of today. To His Ex- cellency Bishop Francis Gilfillan we dedi- cate our AERIE. Requiescat in pace. Bishop of St. Joseph Continuing in the footsteps of his predecessor, Bishop Gilfillan, His Excellency Bishop LeBlond is a stalwart backer of C.B. and all its activities. lg igiouzi .Acfiuified Most important in the lives of C.B. students is the reception of Holy Communion. Each First Friday of the month, all boys have an opportunity to attend Mass at their parishes. From the 16th to the 25th of each month, a special vocation novena to the Holy Infant Jesus is held in each religion class. The termination of this novena, a special Mass celebrated by different priests ofthe diocese, takes place in our chapel for the day, the gymnasium. From November Z2 to 24, Father Francis Murphy, C.SS.R., conducted the annual re- treat. Father Murphy had been to many of the Brothers' schools in the Mid-West before his visit to C.B. Yet his impressions of the religious spirit among the boys were very favorable. The high percentage of students that approached the Communion rail on the last day of retreat was the best indication of the beneficial effects of Father Murphy's exhortations. To him we extend our thanks and pray that each year that Communion percentage will approach the maximum. Come to Me, all ye that labor and are heavily burdened, and I will refresh you. h if.a .. fl His ExcellencyBishop LeBlond, attended by Fathers McQuinn and Quinn, distributes Holy Communion to the student body at the Centennial Mass celebrated at Cathedral last year. Pictured above are Father Murphy, the ret-reat master, and Father Schuman on the final day of retreat when practically all the student body received Holy Communion, a fitting climax to a successful renovation. 4
