rleclicafion Dear Brother Ioel: When we reach a turning point in our lives, we need a guide to start us on the new path we have chosen. The turning point in our lives came when we entered high school. You, Brother, have been the guide to many of us. For fifteen years, you have specialized in freshman instruction and have proven yourself a most capable advisor to the new Cadets who have just passed the turning point in their lives. After entering the Christian Brothers in 1930, and applying yourself to the studies necessary for your future life, you began your teaching career in the Iunior Novitiate at Glencoe, Missouri. In September. 1939, you were assigned to C.B.C. and have been with us ever since. Your homeroom, 302, is familiar to all of us. Many of us have benefitted by your untiring efforts in the class- room. At one time or another, your specialization, Math, stumped many of us. The athletically minded of us are also thankful for the help given us. It seems you were always on hand when we needed help. You have been endowed by nature with certain qualities which are needed by a good Brother and especially by one whose main duty is training boys. We have been the recipients of your gifts of kindliness and friendliness, un- derstanding and leadership. For these we thank you. We are Seniors now. Our high school days are over. Looking back on our four years here at C.B.C., we see the wonderful work you have done. We all appreciate the help you have given us, the many hours you have spent working for our welfare. In sincere appreciation for everything, we dedi- cate the l954 GUIDGN to you Brother Ioel, advisor and friend. Sincerely, The SENIOH CLASS OF 1954
