FGREWORD In an abandoned graveyard, overgrown through neglect, lies the tombstone of the year 1960. It was a year of adventure, a year of fabulous promises, a year of great expectations. We were mere chil- dren then, and everything we saw in our small world was clear and simple. But those hopes and yearnings of 1960 have faded in our minds, and we have grown from children into young adults. The world has changed, but not nearly as much as we, ourselves, have, in these past ten years. We face before us the year 1970 and the phoenix of new hope which has arisen from those ashes which have rested a decade. Our questions now are met with puzzled expressions, and as our out- reached hands grope for meaning, we encounter a nebulous void. The graduating class of 1970 is entering this void, and finding there are no simple answers, no right or wrong, no black or white. They have graduated, it seems, from the child's world of fan- tasy into the adult's world of reality. So it is that the 1970 Pegasus represents four years of ques- tioning, searching for answers, and reaching for meaning, as a boy slowly changes into a man.
