This has been the work of the Christian Brothers, the student body of each succeeding year and the friends of the Academy together with Divine help and guidance. As we stand on the threshold of the begin- ning of another one hundred years of education at Christian Brothers Academy, we have to look back and take inspiration and encouragement from those that have gone before us. We know what they have accomplished during the past century, the record speaks for itself. We do not know what lies ahead, but if we meet the prob- lems and difficulties with the same confidence and spirit of faith, we will be able to pass on to -v d' -'is those that succeed us the torch that was handed to us. All about us great strides are being made in the fields of engineering, science and medi- cine just to mention a few areas of endeavor. We are living in an era referred to as the advent of the space age. Man will have an important role to play in this next phase of his history. We are aware that we will become part of this great new age. In order to meet the challange set before us, we will have to be imbued with those princi- ples that guided our predecessors to their heights of glory. It is with this double view of a great past and the possibility of an even greater future, that we, the Class of 1960, hope to add to the glory of Christian Brothers Academy. x
