Brother Cornelius, Director, Christian Brothers Academy, De La Salle Road, A L B A N Y 8, New York. Dear Brother Director, In the absence of the Most Honored Brother Superior General, it is my privilege and pleasure to extend to you and to the Brothers, the Alumni, the present pupils and the many Friends of the Christian Brothers Academy, the good wishes of the Institute on the occasion of your Centenary. For a hundred years the Academy has labored in the Field of Catholic education, and it has long enjoyed in the United States of America a well-deserved reputation For its achievements, both scholastic and otherwise. Pride of place, however, has always been given to the training and Formation For a Full life oF staunch Catholic citizenship, thereby continuing a tradition that dates back to our glorious Father and Founder, Saint John Baptist de La Salle. May such aims and ideals ever flourish in our lnstitute, For it is by them that we carry out the apostolate the Church has given into our hands. l join you in thanking God For the countless graces He has showered down on the Academy during the past century, and in praying that, through His Blessed Mother, He may long continue to bless and protect you and your important work. Sincerely and devotedly yours in J.H.J., 'Pt 'Y Vicar General The Most l'lOlWfWV'Qii Brother Nicet Joseph, F. S. C. Superior General ofthe Institute ofthe Brothers of the Christian Schools

God be blessed! l do know that the Christian Brothers oF Albany, the devoted laymen and the military personnel are well worthy of the praise showered upon our schools in the United States. May God, with His choicest blessings, deign to increase and develop the seeds oF wholesome learn- ing, religious piety, and moral austerity, sown with such great care in the souls of the pupils of the Christian Brothers Academy of Albany.
