The hopeful Brothers were out to avenge another of last seasons six defeats. The game was fought on even terms for several minutes until Dick Stack broke it wide open wtih an BO yard touchdown run around left end lead by good blocking. From that point on it was all Brothers with the Purple and Gold run- ning through, passing over and stopping the Crusaders cold for a 26-O shut out win. W'

C. B. A. DRAPER BROTHERS TRAMPLE DRAPER In their initial appearance on the gridiron, the fight- ing Purple and Gold looked spectacular. The vicious block- ing, tackling and hard running of the Brothers left Draper on the short end of a 27-O score. Rod Bobbins caught a Ron Devey aerial for one, while Bill Byrne skirted right end from 31 yards out for another. John Pariseau plunged over from the three in the third quarter for the Brothers third T. D. of the night. Then linebacker Dave Yezzi blocked a punt into the end zone, where Rod Bobbins recovered for the final score. Good blocking was displayed by Dave Oberting and Tom Barton. The Brothers, on defense, were led by Barton, Oberting, Dick Lavigne, Jack Griner and Brian Buckoff. may i Sept. The Brothers scored in The second period on a Q. B. sneak by R. Devey, capping a 73 yard drive. In the third quarter, J. Griner recovered a LaSalle fumble at midfield. From there a Devey-to-Byrne pass and runs by J. Pariseau and R. Stack got the ball to the LaSalle TB. Devey then pitched to D. Oberting, who made a spec- tacular catch, for a TD. The great C. B. A. offense was overshadowed by a greater defense. The defensive unit held LaSalle to 36 yards. They could get only a -8 yards on the ground. ew
