WARSIITY IFUUTIBAILIL TEAM C. B. A. opened the season this year with a new coach, Mr. Carl Falivene. lVIr. Falivene, a C. B. A. alumnus, proved to the student body that they could have a team like the ones of the old days. He brought back with him a new style of play for the cadets. This is the powerful single-wing at- tack. It took a great coach to teach the boys the new style of play, but Carl came through with flying colors as he took C. B. A. off the red side of the ledger by coaching the team to its first winning season in four years. The Brothers showed quite a bit of polish'from the single-wing in the first game and constantly improved through the season. A team is not complete if it has a spectacular offense, it also must present a powerful defense. Through the coaching of Mr. Falivene, the Brothers had one of the best defenses in the city. After getting off to a slow start, the cadets really got rolling and by the end of the season they had compiled their first winning season in four years. This may not look too impressive but they played most of their games against Junior Varsity teams. Coached by Brother Michael, and led by such stars as Larry Byron and Royal Whalen, the boys whipped teams that consisted of sophomores and juniors. Their record shows their fine Work was not Wasted.
